The Seven Mayan Prophecies Warn of a Giant Comet, Asteroid Storms, Solar Flares and Other Disasters.

The Seven Mayan Prophecies

These are the final set of the Seven Mayan Prophecies, as told by Ashuan, a Tz'utujil Maya from Lake Atitlan, Guatemala. The prophecies of the Maya were passed down orally for generations in Guatemala and Mexico. They began in 1999, and we are currently in the midst of the Fourth Prophecy. See Seven Mayan Prophecies for the first set of prophecies for 1999 through 2012 and beyond.

The exact dates of the other prophecies is unknown. Because the first one began during a total solar eclipse, this may hold true for the others. For examples of the link between some recent total solar ecilpes and the prophecies, see Earthquakes 2012.

The Giant Comet and Asteroids

Prophecy Six of the Seven Mayan Prophecies tells of the arrival of a giant comet called Ab’aj by the Maya. This comet will pass near Earth and miss, but others, including asteroids, may crash into the planet. There is no set date for this comet in the Prophecies.

However, Russian scientists have discovered a giant comet due to pass near and possibly smash into Earth. The comet is called Aphophis. "It's likely collision with Earth may occur on April 13, 2036," Professor Leonid Sokolov of St. Petersburg State University It was recently revealed by other astrophysicists that Apophis will pass close to what is called a keyhole. This is where two magnetic fields meet in space. If the comet passes through the keyhole, its path could be altered and it could indeed crash into the planet.

Asteroid Storms, Too

Asteroids will destroy all of Europe, or North America or Latin America,” according to Ashuan’s interpretation of Prophecy Six. “The world governments have known this for a long time,” he said. He also reminded the group of the asteroid that passed between the Earth and its moon just a few months earlier in 2010. Another asteroid will pass inside the moon's orbit on November 8, 2011, the same day that the Draconids Meteor Shower begins. In the Mayan Sacred Calendar, November 9 is 7 Imox, or Crocodile, which means turbulence, instability and world-shaking events (9/11 occurred on 6 Imox, and Mubarak fled Egypt on 1 Imox, which is the first day of this 260-day calendar.

NASA has been looking into the possibility that the Draconids Meteor Shower might damage the International Space a month before the asteroid passes near Earth. Current meteor forecast models project a strong Draconid outburst, possibly a full-blown storm, on Oct. 8, 2011, according to William Cooke of the Meteoroid Environment Office at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. NASA also projects that the solar maximum in late 2012 and early 2013 could result in giant solar flares that could damage satellites and power grids around the world.

In early 2011, the International Space Station was moved to a higher orbit.

The Seventh Mayan Prophecy

By the time we roll around to the main event—the Seventh Maya Prophecy—it will all be over but the shouting. “Cataclysm,” Ashuan calmly summed up the imminent future as hummingbirds flittered among the flowers along the shore of magical Lake Atitlan. “Earthquakes, a big one in Latin America. The tectonic plates will shake when hit by energy from the stars, when Earth is synchronized with another planet. This is because our Earth is a big magnet.

Additionally, the next few years of the seventh prophecy will bring more big tsunamis, “…maybe in Europe, India, America or a place they have not been before. Some countries will be underwater, that’s for sure.” He also calls for a terrible hurricane or tsunami on the Pacific coast of Central America as part of the final prophecy. And that “We may see another major war, this one between two world powers.

On another level, the sinister effects of globalization and one-world government—the New World Order—will continue to drag people down unless they say change and say no to transnational companies that introduce genetically altered seeds, monopolize the planet’s minerals, agriculture and even water supply.

What Can We Do?

As bad as it sounds, there is hope. “The future is in our hands,” according to Ashuan. “Times are changing, but we can guide and influence the changes.” He spoke of people continuing to evolve and grow spiritually, liberating themselves from the machine. “We have to get back in touch with the Earth, live our lives by the rhythms of the planet, the way of the Maya. Connecting to Earth is the way.” Is this the transformation of consciousness so often predicted by many 2012 experts?

2012: The End of the World?

When asked about to the end of the current cycle of the Long Count calendar in 2012, he reminded the crowd that “Nowhere do the ancient Maya say this will not be the end of the world, but the end of the current world age. After the days of darkness, a new sun will rise. What happens in the dawn of the new world is up to us.”
